TrialAssist is a new service from CPS Research designed to support IST investigators as needed throughout their study.
Investigator Sponsored Trials (ISTs) can undoubtedly be a major boon to pharmaceutical companies by providing innovative ideas led by enthusiastic investigators producing valuable information about a drug in return for relatively modest funding.
Companies are not allowed to provide the usual administrative and management support and it has become obvious that many able investigators do not have the knowledge or support infrastructure to cope with the increasing bureaucracy involved in clinical trials in the 21st century.
As a result many Investigator Sponsored Trials fail even to get off the ground, while others fail to complete or produce any publishable result.
Not every investigator will require the same levels of support. Based on our experience of involvement in over 250 studies we believe that most investigators will benefit from some third party assistance or advice when conducting a study without company support.
